[Psionicist] Class/Ability Issues - for review week of 10/26

  2. LOL increases enthrall by 3 min thats gotta be the worst class bonus of them all.
  3. Yea - it should really be:
    "Enthrall has a minimum duration of 3 minutes"
    or
    "You can charm non-raid mobs that are currently not flagged as charmable" (ie Pantheon, Baby Dragons, SS/SoK, Vi'rak...)

    If it was a guaranteed 3 Min's then that would be nice but still not a great bonus.
  5. A few more thoughts:

    POTA Armor
    • Get rid of Vit stat and give us something useful like Con or HP in it's place (most caster classes would prefer this I would think). Vit became irrelevant once I got thought thief.
    • 6 piece set bonus is a joke. Enthrall never (or so rarely that it may as well be never) lasts the full 7 minutes as it is. The extra 3 minutes is worthless to me. Heck, I'd rather have something as basic as a chance to proc guaranteed crit on the next X spells cast or something, a self damage rune, increased spell damage, or just about anything else. Even as Demethir and Asasin suggested a guaranteed 3 minutes on enthrall would be at least useful.
    Abilities
    • In light of necro changes: dots increased to 60s with no per tick reduction, reduced refresh on sealed fate so that it can stay in the high damage portion all the time now. I'd love for my dots to tick for 45-60s with no per tick reduction, and reduced refresh on Mindfire and Temp/Superior Temp Fracture.
    • If a target is immune to Psionic Barrier/Diamond Skin, the cooldown shouldn't be consumed and we should get a notice the target is immune.

    - Long-duration dots are actually very BAD. There are many encounters later in the game where your raid dps needs to slow down or even stop entirely with little notice. When these long-duration dots are up, they sometimes push mobs into new phases of the fight before the raid is ready for it. While I like the idea of having my dots require less refreshing, I like the control we have currently.

    Well then, buff the damage on 'em or give us back a ramp-up ability!!!
    As for the pota armor, I know it's for all casters. I just know all the guild casters complain about the vit too, but I see your point on this being about psi only thread.
  9. Union of Thought - Can we add this to our APW/PotA/lvl 55 All in one buffs or reduce the refresh timer so we can macro it to insta cast?
    True Sight - same deal, can we add this to our All in Ones or remove the global refresh timer?
    These are just basic requests, not important but would be nice to save hot bar space :)
  10. Meta Mind does not apply itself after a death/login until you switch stances.
  11. Gear/Survivability - we don't have the dps of a glass cannon, so we shouldn't be made of glass. Although that seems to be the direction we are going.
    • I would also like to see Vit removed from our class specific PoTA gear and become Con. Vit may be useful to other classes, but it is not to us. And it is, after all, supposed to be Psi only gear. I would ask for more pure hps, but i'm unsure what the tier beyond holds in store- perhaps the low attributes/hps is intended so that the next tier won't go the mudflation route.
    • The Enrallment effect on the PoTA gear is worthless, give us something worthwhile. Anything would be preferrable. A % chance to proc a dmg buff, or a rune, or even the old APW proc mez would be better. This would actually be the perfect place to insert some of our old survivability back in. Maybe a chance to proc a 30% rune for 2 mins.
    Mindspy Issues
    • Semi-permanent Mindspies. Keeping Mindspies up is a pain and a half. Even keeping the system we have now and just increasing the buff timer by a few hours would make this much less burdensome.
    • Mindspies are outdated atm. It would be very nice if the Mindspy power scaled with the lvl of the caster. There have already been more than enough issues with getting the mob population equipped with usable mindspies, it would be much simpler to use the ones currently in game for all mob types instead of making new, more powerful versions for higher lvl mobs.
    DPS - I see we have pretty much stayed away from asking from any sort of dps upgrade, perhaps because we have all been beaten into submission from nerfs, but seeing as other classes have gotten dps upgrades from these tweaks, I don't see why we shouldn't. After all, dps is god and so far the game is not anywhere near maximized to use our cc utility. Here is just a few thoughts. Any or all of these could help us.
    • Remove the global recast on the weakness mindspies so that we can cast the aggession immediately afterwards. Keep the global on the aggression.
    • Give us back some of the damage that was taken away from our dots. It doesn't need to be anything crazy. Just give us a bump.
    • Allow the sorc's Chaotic Feedback to stack with Phrenic Rage. We should be able to get these benefits.
  12. Thanks for your thoughts Etherian - can you do me a quick favor though? Compare your points to the summary thread and highlight the primary differences... I will get around to it eventually, but if you have the time, it would help a lot.
    I just saw a lot of similar things and want to make sure we capture everything without redundancy. Also, you might be making some different points on some of these things and I might be missing the subtleties.

And it is, after all, supposed to be Psi only gear. (This isn't addressed in the compilation post. It has been mentioned, but was rejected on the basis of other casters needing Vit. Our t3 gear is flagged as psi only, other casters can't use it. Just because every archtype's gear was copy/pasted doesn't mean that we can't ask to have stats tailored to us.)

Considering they have flat out refused many, many posts asking for this specific thing, I don't think they are gonna give it back.   14. Necros no longer need corpses for minions and get both forms. Shammies can be in animal form and have their pet out. Life is becoming simpler for classes so maybe we should just get all Mindspy Weaknesses and Aggressions as permanent abilities and only have to get the Defensive abilities from mobs. Or at least once you spy them the first time they become permanent like a learned ability. That is a lot of abilities though, so I'm not sure how that idea would fly. Maybe they could become a "No Rent" ability somehow so you keep them until you log out for whatever the no rent timer is.
    It would solve most of the issues people have with them... time sink involved in going to get them all, repeated dragging to toolbars, disappearing on crashes, etc.
    Damage should still be looked at as they don't scale well past 50, but I know it would save me a lot of time and hassle. Yeah, it would remove some flavor from the class, but I'd rather lose the little bit of flavor than have to deal with the hassle if it comes down to it. No other class faces as big a loss to damage potential from a death or crash.
  15. As an after thought it would be nice if the illusions we get actually helped us in some way not even really sure how the devs could make them useful without making them overpowered but it would be nice to actually have a use for them.

    It is already working in game now with "The Mask of the Feral Warrior" allowing you to gain the Vulmane appearance and racial abilities for Rogues and Bards.
    It would be very cool if we could gain any racial we wanted with the click of an illusion.

    I am not sure if it would be needed man, if they make it work like the "Mask of the Ferral Warrior" then as soon as you lose the buff, the illusion and racial goes away with it, so we wouldn't be able to stack racials by clicking through our long list of illusions to become over stacked with racials and uber powerful.
    But if needed...I still wouldn't argue with a 10 min cool down to gain any racial we wanted :)
  19. Imagine being able to use Arcane Balance (HE) immediately followed by the Dark Elf +dmg until that wears off, then pop back the thestran human for the +2% dmg.... this would get broken VERY fast.
