Alchemist?

  1. Has there been any word on a Alchemy crafting class? Will this be implemented at any point, or not?
  2. Im split on wanting this. one one hand it would be another crafting class (2 specializations maybe potions and food items could be the difference) But on the other hand. do I really want to level 2 more crafters?

From what i understand there was a design for alchemist but some of its functionaly was given away to other crafting classes (ie carvings, talismans, tokens)
  3. Haha, well technically you wouldn't have to level either of the new classes. =P
However, I've just begun crafting while I decide which adventuring class I'd like to make my main and I was hoping that there was a class to make potions, elixirs, voodoo dolls, and the likes.
  4. I wouldn't mind seeing alchemy added as a secondary crafting class. With 5 levels one per crafting tier, which require a quest line to per tier.
And then we could add a couple of other secondary crafting classes as well, maybe cooking or costumer (apperiance slot costumes).
    just ideas.
  5. I think a provisioner would go over well as long as food/drink added stats or buffs to the user.. maybe some in-combat items, too (like a Druid's berries)?
Alcohols would be fun. If they wanted to go epic with it they could make foods poisonable by Rogues for diplomacy quests and the likes. They could be placeable to lure mobs for hunting/trapping/skinning.. or given to beggars, though I haven't seen many, for city factions (typing that made me still wish factions/KoS existed between cities/races).
Anywho, it would be cool to see them implement something unique.

Just to comment on the bolded portion. EQ2 has this exact crafting class actually. You consume food and drink in EQ2 for a boost in out of combat HP and Mana regeneration, but some food and drink provide various stat or combat bonuses that last for as long as their OOC regen lasts. For example, there was a high level crafted food that provided a pretty noticeable (5% I think) critical chance bonus. But they didn't last as long as other food or drink so there was a down-side.
I think that'd be pretty nifty to have here.
  7. Was wandering around in Ahgram after reading this thread- the other NPC in the room w/ the BMG trainer- an alchemist.
Only interaction is a non-interactive "thank you what can I get for you"- but seemed a possible entryway/ beginning to open him as a trainer....
  8. Sounds like a promising fine.
I've keep an eye out when I'm venturing through the cities.
  9. dreams and wishfull thinking

A lot of water under the bridge and a lot more players to the game befoe big new projects will be started/done in vg and as f2p hasnt managed to get the need for an additional server yet .....

I am so with you on this, I think an EQII style potion specialist and food maker could be a nice addition. However just like you I cringe at the thought of having to level yet two more crafters.
And to those that say we do not have to have??? UM YES we do....its a sickness and its just the way it is.
