Hello everyone, I was just going to rejoin the community today when I found out Halgar had been closed for good. I had quite a number of characters on Halgar, including my main. Unfortunately, none of them were eligible for an automatic transfer and as T-Online took a whole year to fix my internet connection (the reason I originally had to take a break from this game), I wasn't able to log into the game. I also didn't get an email about the closure, so I didn't even find out despite having access to my email at work. Is there even the slightest possibility any of my characters might be recovered from an old backup? Or, at the very least, to extract the character's race, class and gender from somewhere? I still have the original xml files with all character names (minus five which, apparently, were never saved to that table. Thankfully, I still have a few screenshots from the character select screen).
If you still know your station account info, the characters should be on the Telon server now if they were on the Halgar server that was merged with the current one a few months ago. Edit: After re-reading your post it sounds like maybe your characters were not on the server that was merged with Telon. Bummer.
They were on Halgar. Unfortunately, most of them were too low level to be considered. I'm not a hardcore player when it comes to MMOs. I usually spend most of the time RPing and socializing with other players. Still. Would've been nice to have my characters back or, at the very least, to get some more character info (since I don't remember all my race/class/gender combinations). I re-rolled my main character last night, but since none of my original templates still existed (seems like they were overwritten when I last logged out of the game, back in April 2012), I fear he might not be a perfect recreation of what my original character looked like. PS: Is there any way to save a template for an existing character? I still had a few Telon characters that I'd now like to backup, to be on the save side. Will "Shave and Haircut" grant me the option to save/load templates?
