Bravo again Morty!I love reading the journal even though I write some of them. You got some awesome pics too. The one of Yebral Life Draining that orc is a great pic, well timed. And the one of him hand standing too.

    LONG LIVE THE HEG!

The HEG was helping their HEG Scouts sell cookies in front of Bria's Mill in Rindol Field today. A Dwarf came to the stand and asked for Yebral. Bandobra pointed to the nearby fence post that Yebral was propped up against chugging down his ale. The Dwarf snapped to and gave a short bow and took his leave. It's not unusual to find a Dwarf every now and again in Rindol Field. Though the few that are around are usually the Angry Emmisarys. Yebral pushed himself from the post and gave the Dwarf a hearty greeting. They exchanged a laugh for a bit, then Yebral's face had a serious look upon it. The Dwarf gave Yebral a parchment. They patted each other on the shoulder and said farewell. Yebral read over the parchment. Bandobra walked over to Yebral and asked when are we leaving and where are we going. Whenever a courier or a parchment showed up the HEG had become a custom to realizing it would be time to move out again. Yebral and Bandobra looked over the request for help and brought it over to Mortylis, Jite and Waylian to read. They all took their leave of the cookie stand and told the HEG Scouts to keep up the good work. Within an hour the HEG met upstairs in The Baron's Tooth Tavern to plan their next adventure. They knew this would be nothing like the Orcbane Mines they conquered not long ago. Nor like the Gulgrethor Orcs they faced the past two weeks. This time the foes would be very formidable, it would be Dwarfs. They sat at the table planning late in to the evening hours before adjourning for the night. Tomorrow would be a very dangerous adventure for the HEG.

    Here is the letter Yebral received;

    Greetings to HEG,

I've finished completing the tasks I had set aside for Dhel and may be interested in joining now provided you have the room and I have the time.
    • What classes do you currently have?
    • What level range are you now?
    • When are the adventures scheduled?
I like to take my time and explore and would enjoy visiting areas at the appropriate level. It sounds like you don't rush through the dungeons and you like to have fun while there. I've never been one to rush to the end just to do it.

    Well met Dhelmar!

    The classes we currently have are;

Paladin/Cleric/Rogue/Disciple/Necromancer/Psionicist. We have two MIA players whose classes were a Monk and Bard.

We are holding at level 16 at this time. (Some of us dinged 17 by accident)

We adventure once a week on Saturday evenings 9pm pst for approx. 3 hours. (If there is interest during the week we can look at another day or two if the interest is there.)

This week's adventure will take us to Ksaravi Gulch.

We would be glad to have you, even if we had to make the group a raid.

Only two rules in joining the HEG are

    1) Your character must be a Halfling
    2) Have Fun

    Hello Dhelmar,

I echo what Enkur said. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. Life sometimes gets busy, but I am glad Enkur gave you the run down.

If you want to find out a little more about our adventures, you can at mmorty.com.

As Enkur said, we do indeed have a good time and don't rush through levels. we are here to have fun, and enjoy Vanguard and each other's company
    .
We do use Ventrillo to talk to each other in game and have found it is very essential to making the night flow well, and HIGHLY encourage our members to join us in channel.

I think I am right by saying, we could use another healer type, (blood mage, shammy, etc, or another Bard, or a tanky type who can scoop up aggro) but to be honest, we take anyone as long as they are a Halfling. (we could use another Bard, or a tanky type who can scoop up aggro)

Lastly if would be awesome if you can join us on a regular basis. I think you will have fun.

    Talk to you later Dhelmar!

Greetings Telon, from the HEG. This week we decided to help the Dwarfs at Themwar's Shield and check on the Oathbreaker Dwarfs deep inside Khegor's Mine that is now known as Khegor's End. It's just a short trot up the hill from Themnwar's Shield. We had a lot of questing to do here. We slew many spiders at the entrance and all the way down the ramp deep into the mine. There we encountered nasty Bugbears and the Oathbreaker Dwarfs in the smelting and forge area. We then got to ride a large lift even deeper into the old mine. We encountered Fungid and giant centipedes in the Halls of Poison. In one tunnel we found Oathbreaker Seers and Miners that were still actively digging and researching the items they had discovered. We even had to tangle with Whirling Stones in this area. When we were finished there we traveled down the main tunnel which opened up in to a Great Hall. There were many Oathbreaker Soldiers here including the Heavy Guard. We cleared the main hall and some rooms down the left hall. We came upon the main room that seated the Oathbreakers King Jurdin Thunderaxe. After our business was done there, Yebral started asking every few feet "Are we there yet?" referring to the Deepstone Bar located within the Great Halls. We found the patrons there to be very hostile. The patrons must know each other very well because when we attacked one the whole bar came after us. Including the servers and barkeep. To find out more you have to read Morty's Journal later on in the week. This week there will be an interview with Yebral!

Wow, I got spoiled with Waylian doing the last two Journal Entries. I forgot how much time it takes to put together.

Well Journal Entry 14 is now available. It isn't as good as Waylian's writing, but I hope you enjoy. The HEG found itself at Khegor's End this last Saturday. A place so many players of Vanguard are familiar with. We had a good time and explored the entirety of the mine. I feel very happy with how much content we were able to get through, and with the exception of going back at a higher level to kill all the patrons at the bar, I feel we totally kicked Khegor's Butt!

    Journal Entry 14

Also as a side note, Enkur's (Waylian's) screenshots have not been added yet. When I get them I will make sure to add them to the Scrapbook.

I made a warrior halfling named Bullo. You can call him 'Bull' ;) (Related to my favorite rogue halfling Sullo) He's on the IoD and will be off this weekend. I've done all the quests around Tursh on Sullo awhile back and wanted to just get Bullo caught up to join. He's level 10 now, but I don't think I'll get him to 16 before the next adventure as I have other things to do outdoors while the weather's nice.

I thought about a bard, but not sure I could get into one. Playing a healer is out as I'd rather focus on the fight instead of everyone's hitpoints and that means death to all! Or at least one halfling that's in trouble a lot and mine don't need to get everyone killed to get into trouble.:D

Look for Bullo and I'll keep an eye out for the group this weekend to get joined in the guild.

We'll be looking forward to seeing you Dhelmar

I would like to welcome Bullo (aka Dhelmar), level 17 Halfling Warrior to the Halfling Explorer Group. :D

Waylian writes Quilyassa another note, not explaining much about his disappearance last week. There is big trouble looming on the horizon in the world of Telon. Waylian is determined to stop whatever it is, but his letter is very vague.

Well ... it's a couple days late, and without a Scrapbook at the moment, but here is the latest installment of the HEG Journal Entry.

    Journal Entry 15

I hope you enjoy. It's more funny than most I think ...

    Wooohooo Bullo! Welcome!

Too bad I missed all the fun. I was running through that area yesterday and the day before soloing what I could. Yebral gave me a hand for a littel while yesterday till I had to log off due to severe thunderstorms and lightening at the time. Another good write up Morty, well done.

Thanks everyone for the welcome. I'm looking forward to our adventures! :)

Hallo Telonites from the HEG. The HEG decided to hang around Ksaravi Gulch for one more Saturday to help each other finish the Black Wyvren Down & The Poison Supply questlines. Both are rather interesting quest lines. The first yielded some Orange Gloves and the latter yielded a nice Yellow Weapon. All evening long we were slaying many Ksaravi Ratmen, rats, sludge blobs and sludge men. Not to mention scorpions, mantis and beetles. We we joined by our newest member Bullo who provided some extra tankage for the group. By early morning there were three of us left and we had one last quest to complete from the Archaeology quest line. It's a short line but for level 18 Halflings it was quite the challenge. In true HEG fashion the three of us met our maker a few times in determining our strategy to complete this one last quest. But let not our hearts be troubled, and yet again in true HEG fashion we found a way! The only thing I can say is that I never thought I'd see a Paladin running around like a madman. I'll leave it at that. You will have to read Morty's Journal to find out how we succeeded.

A small note for the HEG this week. I am very behind in posting both the Journal Entry and a few of Waylian's Writings this week, because I spent the first couple days in the hospital with my daughter.

I think I will be taking this week off from blogging to catch up on things and take care of my family

Hopefully next week I will get the normal Journal Entry and Waylian Writings posted for you all.
Have a great week though in the interim. Thanks for understanding.

(I will be playing as normal this Saturday though :) )
