Ugh City Plat - Now KOS :(

  1. Yeah, yeah I know it's my fault but I mean really...
Turning in City plat just to ge the now lousy flying pegasus has made me KOS to gnomes, elves and a host of various outposts and really making my life miserable :(
I'll just wait to 50 now and just buy a flying mount on the rest of my toons.
  2. Yes, I always hated that, especially back in the beginning when starting as an orc meant you were KOS in 3/4 of the known world.
My evil chaos paladin (now a Kurashasa!) is KOS in Martok and Hathor Zhi because of getting just a couple pieces of faction armor, and it makes doing the Exemplar of All Telon a real pain! I learned my lesson on this one.
I have got the level 30 ground mount on a few of my toons because you can get enough faction for that one without going over the KOS threshold, and I always wanted to get a faction pegasus just to have one, but I was never willing to live with the constant thorn in my rump that being KOS entails.
The good news is that you can fix your main faction to be non-KOS and the citizen faction, which I have found no way to fix, does not seem to matter. I have been all over cities with KOS citizen faction and never been attacked, or even saw any red names. It seems to be a dead faction and probably should be removed.
The bad news is that, since Silius dialed the faction down from 3 per kill to 1 per kill, repairing your faction that way might take a lifetime. Honestly, I do not understand why he felt that was desirable or even necessary. Sometimes I think he just did things to "get back at" players who were known to give him a hard time. There is NO other reason for this change.
  3. Personally... (opens can of worms), I am on the opposite side of this and Feel that the factions should be brought back! Evil races (Dark evles, orc's, etc) should be KOS in good aligned cities and vice versa, no one should be able to make a dark elf character and instantly walk into Leth Nurae, a lot of work should go into changing your faction, showing that you are not like the others of your kind, proving yourself.
I do agree, the nerf to faction gains is something that should not have been as drastic as it was (if at all)..
