HAIL.. I'm looking to start Diplo .. And have rest exp and a plethora of exp pots to hopefully burn me through this sphere that I am not interested in( maybe because after 5yeard I still know nothing about it?) Are you a Diplo pro? And wishing to Impart your wisdom? Please let me know to contact you In Game when we both have time.. Show me the ropes.. Do's and don'ts.. And preferably fast ways to get to 50 (for my POTA) I'd appreciate it! Thanks!
there are threads in this forum that are pretty much crafting and diplo 101 , you should search them out and have a good read. For diplo, the main thing is not to worry about flattery, demand, etc but think of the colored dots as fuel. The key to understanding diplo is in knowing when to shut up and just listen. Basically, you want the ball on your side until the turns run out. To do this you need to get ahead by playing a card that moves it your way with little or no fuel costs, while at the same time not giving fuel to the npc. Once ahead, you can listen (costs no fuel, gives no fuel). What is this fuel of which you speak? you say. The row of colored balls is the key. The numbers in the middle row are how much fuel you will use when you play the card. The row above is what you are giving (or taking away from) the npc. the row below is what you are giving (or taking away) yourself. the number in the top right corner is how far you move the ball your way. Cards like "gremlins greed" cost you nothing to play, gives the npc nothing, yet moves the bar 2 your way. a perfect starter card. Cards like "charming distraction" take 10 of everything away from you and the npc. A great card to play when he plays a fuel loaded card and you dont want him to use any of it against you. talk to people in game, and also check out thetelonproject.com some good info there.
