There was an announcement recently regarding allowing EQ players to create artifacts for the game. This has been an idea of mine for a long time and would be a shift in the MMO paradigm - that has started with EQ. I play VG and this world has such immense free space that this would something to keep the game alive - and would also bring a whole new type of player base into the MMO games. As long as the content was ratified by SOE - or some sort of Player council - it would work. Especially with the new VG Cash Shope - I could see lots of attractuve gear designed - you could in fact just start with Apparel - which would just need to adhere to Qalian/Kojan or Thestran styles - no stats balancing issues would be required. So SOE - just make avaulable the tools - and you've got yourself a couple of hundred free developers !!
