failed to open log file...

  1. I've been trying to use the /log command to create a combat log for parsing, but when I do I see an error message in the chat window "failed to open log file [file name] for appending".
    I spent some time in chat with customer service, and all we managed to accomplish was losing all of my macros. Has anyone else seen/resolved this? What I've tried so far:
    Reverting to the default UI (dunno why, but customer support said to try it).
    Setting both the launcher and Vanguard.exe to run as administrator (windows 7)
    Making sure that \bin\logs grants full permissions to "everyone".
    Any ideas?
  2. Vanguard's installer does not create the logs folder, you have to do it manually.

    The ..\bin\Logs folder is for troubleshooting, and not for any Chat window logs.
  3. Wow, if it's that simple I'm going to be really relieved, and a little miffed that I spent a half hour with customer service, and a couple of hours poking around to try to sort it.
