As someone who has had friends go through these problems and watched the pain and bravery that is brought forth from cancer my thoughts go with all the family and friends affected by the passing of Karella Jureen. She truly sounds like she was a kind spirit.

This is really sad news. Karella was very helpful in offering tips and advice to the new crafters apart from helping so many people out. Condolences to the friends and family. RIP.

Addy, my wife, and I, Brundar, first joined Final Resolve in 2008. The first person, when we were thinking of apping, that Valencia introduced us to was Karella. I crafted quite a bit so Val was keen to introduce me to Karella for sure! I was impressed with Karella's knowledge of crafting, harvesting and the game in general. From the beginnng Karella was nice and easy to talk with. I was a Weapon Smith when we joined and Karella taught me a lot about making jewelry, an area of crafting I was starting to explore. She also made Addy and I gear from the moment we joined, a generous move from my point of view. Before I started my Artificer she used to cut gems for me to upgrade weapons, something I was most grateful for. Once I started my Artificer I cut gems for her from time to time. I saw how time consuming it could be and was even more grateful for her time and work.

Like any family we had our disagreements from time to time but we were always still friends/family. Karella was always one of the first to say hi and bye to any loggers. It seems like a simpe thing but in a game with a high social aspect it can mean a lot. At guild Christmas parties she ran the fish races. I can still here her voice in vent calling the 2012 Christmas fish races. I hope I never loose that.

Karella/Kris, thank you for your friendship. We will never forget you and we will always love you!

My deepest condolences to Arlen and family. While I never had the good fortune to know her, I know of her work and the type of selfless person she was with her help in the Vanguard community. This is indeed a loss all around.

Many have spoken about how kind and helpful Karella was; this was always very true about her. She was one of those people who was good natured and patient all of the time. From my earliest days in FR as a new recruit, I remember Karella taking some serious time from crafting to run me through APW to the dreaded Malfunctioning spark so that I could farm my meat 2/ball spells. A couple hours later I was able to hold my own, but not without her patience and guidance. We have lost someone very special, but she will never be forgotten. I give my sincere condolences to friends and family.

    Greetings everyone,

This is a reminder (and a notification to those that still don't know) that Karella's memorial is happening tonight at 8PM eastern tonight.
This will be a small event, we will play one of her favorite games, maybe some grouping if folks want to stay and play VG.
If you were a friend of her's and would like to come see her houses once more (she has a new one she decorated last year) and express condolences to Arlen, you are welcome to attend. This will be held at our guild hall. PM me in game if you have questions.

    Regards
    Val

I’d like to thank everyone for attending last night. The memorial went well. We did what Karella would have liked; we played, we dueled, we paid our respects and consoled Arlen and we showed off her most recent house. Karella was an awesome decorator and her work was well known. She was very proud of this house and loved to show it off. This recent house of hers was depicted as a seafood restaurant with the eating area above and most of the bottom floor as a large aquarium. Very well done!

If anyone would like to see it, it has been unlocked for viewing. You can find her house near the center of the isle of Lost Shores at Loc: 51792,16658, 8568 Owner: Melaine

    That's awesome Shivvey, thanks!
While I did not know Karella or anyone in Final Resolve personally, I must thank her and the guild for making the VG Crafter's Resource forum available to all. When I returned to VG a few years ago it was the only good source of crafting info I could find. She is a shining example of what makes this community and this game so great.
