Raid Lag

  1. Even just standing in khal doing nothing results in regular 4k pings.
    Karax however was really smooth today, no lag no hitches, acceptable fps etc.
  2. sparkles lag is incredibly bad.
  3. Whatever it is, it is definitely not 'encounter A, B or C'. ITs Vanguard: Saga of Heroes. Multiple people have ungodly beastly systems and they lag like crazy on a game that will be 6 years old + in January of 2013.
    I like it that its priority 1, but it sounds like a massive HARDWARE overhaul is definitely needed. Oh and if its running on good hardware.... please just put us out of our misery.
    Lag has just gotten worse and worse over the last 8 months. Raids, spellcasting, rifting, zones, some zones, most zones, all zones.....
    Im hoping you guys are taking this 100% serious and drop everything else. This stuff will bury the game. Its all fun and games when even the obsessed can't even bare to log in due to lag.
  4. I know the devs have been watching raids and looking at things that causes lag. Thanks for that. But I have to point out that the feel of lag in/out raid is like night and day. YOU have to be IN the raid to feel the lag we raiders are feeling. It has already been brought up time and time again. So would you please spend sometime and raid with your customers to feel the LAG. (You might even learn some stuff about your character you did not know about) Come on.. Raid with us...

  6. That video reminds me of the anger Furor used to give off in Fires of Heaven during a Kael'Thas raid.
    The ping lag is what is the problem here, not freezing or stuttering because of performance based issues.

  11. I really hope the devs or whoever put the resources toward this issue that it will take to get it resolved. I personally don't care if they took the whole game down for a month or 2 to rewrite/restructure whatever they had to. I bet if you took a vote on it, I would not be in the minority either, far from it. To get a lag free or even remotely lag-free Vanguard would unleash a population boom onto the surface of Telon like no other. I know it, other players know it, I just hope the guys holding the purse strings are smart enough to realize it. C'mon guys, bite the bullet, PLEASE!!!!! F2P is nice, but the groundswell will only last so long. I'd pay whatever it took to play a lag-free(ish) version of Vanguard, and I have 15 other MMO friends that would do the same, I just can't even get any of them to play past level 15, because they can't spin around in a circle without hitching. I love this game, and really hope this gets truly addressed, not just bandaged.
  12. And here we go again with the Forum lag again as well. 6-12 seconds to load a page and getting logged out randomly. I STILL say you need ot get your Net Eng and Sys Admins involved and not looking at code. Developers can only go so far.
  13. lag at masuke before engage, lag at belzane before engage, lag in misthaven before even getting into the mansion.. people are not logging in for raids now or logging in , seeing the lag and saying why bother.. This is not a raid issue, raid lag is just another symptom of a very large problem that needs someone besides code devs working on it. Please help us keep our friends playing and resolve these issues.
  14. We really should stop calling this raid lag, its serverside lag that has little to do with connection, PC, or chunk.
    Any death, buff stripping, add spawn or ae event seems to hiccup the server.

Networking seems to be the issue, either that or the server itself isn't up to the load and thus is locking up causing the server <> client communication to stop for these short periods. But yeah, I suspect routing fault within their datacentre.

    Vanguard has a finite "logged-in" user capacity, which is far below the intended "healthy population" target for the size of the world. This, more than anything, is the crux of almost everything that ever went wrong with the game.
    Recommend looking to data transfer protocols for more recent MMOs like Rift (shudders) which seem to have overcome this hurdle.
