Marketplace

  1. Howdy,
I realize this is kinda silly, and it truly is not that big a deal, but I figured it can't be that hard to throw in there. But then again, I dunno. Anywho.
Does the Marketplace not have a search function, or am I just blind? Seems kind of wonky if it doesn't. I just figure that it'd make folks life easier, when they want to find something specifically, and they don't want to have to try and guess where it is, and then flip through pages. And I realise that, as of yet, there isn't a whole lot actually in the marketplace, but it's gettin' bigger and bigger.
    *shrug* Just a thought.
  2. Don't think it does. If you select the correct category however it generally doesn't give you more than a few pages to flip through.
Wish it did have search though. I also wish the race and class unlocks would stop appearing for gold members.

This is good actually. What if a gold member decides he doesnt want to be gold member anymore but he plays gold class/race?
  4. Also, though tangentially related, make lockboxes not awful. Made the horrible decision to buy a key today. Huge waste. =\

You knew it was a gamble...

So? It's a crappy gamble as it turns out and the lockboxes should be worthwhile so people, you know, regularly unlock them. I'm not asking for my money back, I'm suggesting they take a look at the lockboxes so that they serve their intended purpose--getting people to regularly buy keys and not just once and give up in disgust.
  7. The rewards from the lockboxes are suppose to have a minimum value equal to the cost of the key(s) to open it. This was brought up in another thread when the lockboxes first came out. I can understand your disappointment as I to bought a key to open one lockbox and received an evac potion on my sorc. Thats the last key I purchased. Just think if you would have recieved an awesome weapon or a mount, how much more money you would have spent on keys trying to obtain cool items?

    O.P.
With the category list it wouldn't appear to be hard to locate an item on the marketplace. I am curious as to what item you would require a search for. Now as the marketplace grows with more items then I can really see a search function being viable.

It's all about luck, i opened like 20 Finch lockboxes and got nothing good, and then i opened 1 Vothdar's Lockbox and found Vothdar's Stone Spider.

*nod* You're absolutely right. As Vanguards Marketplace stands now, there really is no need for a search function. It wasn't really much of a complaint I had, as it was just a suggestion that I thought (erroneously or not) would be easy to implement.
I mean, heck, if I was looking for appearance items, for example, there are only, what ...5 or 6 options per category? (Armor, clothing, etc). Pretty easy to sift through. But what if they decide to not be ridiculous and add the option to just buy a helmet, or just a chest piece, instead of forcing folks to buy the whole outfit? That would, on its own, add 3 pages to one category. THEN, a search function would surely be nice. To just type "Helmet", and bam ...You got helmets.
I wasn't actually looking for anything in particular myself - was really just browsing. *shrug* As I said, just a thought, and perhaps even a moot point. Turbines little version of Sonys Marketplace is full of crap. Page upon page upon page of crap. And if it did not have a search function, as it does, I would have bought much less on it then I did during my stint on Lord of the Rings On-line. So if Sony has any plans to add more to the Marketplace (Even though we all know they'll just continue adding silly vanity pets and illusions), making it easier for customers to find quickly what they're looking for could only help.
  10. Did the price of the +5% exp bag go up?
I remember thinking I was going to be able to get it with my next monthly subscription (as I'm not going to pay money for actual SC itself) and went to grab it but realized I still can't afford it. I can't tell if my math was off or if the price was lifted during that month I was waiting.
I almost bought into the 3x Station Cash thing today when I was picking up my next gamecard at Walmart. I believe I would have gotten 4500 points for $15.. but, for some reason, I couldn't see it being worth it when I could use that cash for a second account instead!
  11. The Walmart cards were 6k points for 15 bucks (1500 + 500 = 2000 base * 3 = 6000). I bought 4 of them for the triple station cash day.
  12. Personally, I'm still waiting for that Golden Palamino Pegasus marketplace flying mount. C'mon, we have a wyvern and a griffon (Qalia and Thestra) so where is our Kojan mount? And please, no more frostys! Golden Palamino FTW!
Seriously, I need 3 more flyers for alts, and I am not buying more frostys!
And yeah, yeah, get your griffon, blah, blah, blah, griffon neck, blah, blah, blah....
Already have a Nightmare, Shimmer Griffon, Venerable Black Griffon, Venerable Red Wyvern, Venerable Green Wyvern, Young Black Griffon, Young Blue Griffon, so I have been down that road often enough already! (Plus a Frosty Griffon and 2 Frosty Wyverns from the market.)
C'mon guys, got cash in hand! Chop Chop!

Do stores IRL have a search function that brings the item right to you without you having to browse through other items and listings to find it? It's merchandising and marketing.
  14. Didn't realize the marketplace was a physical location you were browsing. I will say that most online sellers do, in fact, have search functions.
