To all Veteran players, need some help. I've been trying to determine where to place the attribute points for my characters, but the information I've been able to find is often conflicting and out dated. Some attributes are obvious, but the order of importance isn't. This is what I've been able to dig up: PALADIN Solo 4/5 to STR 4/5 to DEX 2/4 to VIT [for self-healing] and/or CON Group (<51) 4/5 to STR 4/5 to DEX 2/4 to CON and/or VIT [for "just in case" group healing] Raid (51+) 4/5 to STR 4/5 to CON 2/4 to DEX DREAD KNIGHT Solo 4/5 to STR 4/5 to DEX 2/4 to CON Group (<51) 4/5 to STR 4/5 to DEX 2/4 to INT [Spells to generate hate?] and/or CON Raid (51+) 4/5 to STR 4/5 to CON 2/4 to INT and/or DEX WARRIOR Solo 4/5 to STR 4/5 to DEX 2/4 to CON Group (<51) 4/5 to STR 4/5 to DEX 2/4 to CON Raid (51+) 4/5 to STR 4/5 to CON 2/4 to DEX Do these seem right??? What needs to be changed?
Now I'm quite new to the game, and have a little Halfling Warrior. Is Vitality not important? I alwasy interpreted Life Regeneration as damage mitigation unless the regen doesn't work in combat.

I don't think it's overanalyzing at all, but to eaches own. Also, my recollection is that the returns on CON are insignificant until later on. So, aren't you better off focusing on another attribute, like DEX, until after level 50?
hp from con has diminishing returns but tanks still need hp. if you can't take a hit, why bother playing a tank. you need con for hp and resists, str for melee dmg/blocking and dex for crits. like i said, until you start capping stats from raid gear, theres no point in worrying about deviating from the standard. maybe as a dk you might favor int more than dex but it still should be tertiary imo.
For Paladin Str > Dex > Vit till 50. And then you Con, Dex > Str (or) Con, Str > Dex depending on your race and gear and how close to capping str you are.
