Item Timer Refresh Discussion

Discussion in 'Developer Roundtable' started by ARCHIVED-Silius, Aug 9, 2012.

  1. Let's not let this issue drop please.
Do we have a summary somewhere of what fixes still need to be addressed? And Silius, may we get an eta on when some of these can get fixed?
  2. also not a game breaking issue but the war golem from magi hold is on the same timer as the major potions you can get from diploing in pota or from kdq crates. the golem isn't a stat affecting item shouldn't be on the same timer as them as i am going to choose taking a con potion over summoning my golem any day
and also bump as this issue shouldn't be forgotten
  3. this issue needs to be re looked at. Didnt do anything to boost performance, and it certainly reduced our ingame enjoyment. please revert or find a different soluation so we can use several worn clickies at the same time again
  4. Is this topic still being talked about behind close doors? Some items are still not getting their seperate timers..
  5. having my magi hold war golem on the same timer as a CON potion still makes NO sense to me, just because other things have diverted dev attention (like class changes) can we please get some kind of resolution to all these refresh timer inconsistencies and let us go back to using things we earned again.

Please continue to look into this.
  7. Imo most timers could be removed totally
I don't understand what the big deal is with timers, so what if you can use a raid item to buff (usually a pretty crappy mid lvl buff) over and over.
For standard stats.. just let them over write eachother.
Dmg pot (even if u think its powerful) is a problem that will sort it self out, if you over consumate you will run out of them.

Effect in items running on same timers would only make sense if all effects were in one item.

...and ofc again, thx for 150% nerf on meteor staff (NOT!.. give back 2min re-use timer)

I would assume if you over consumate you would end up with some sort of chafing issue.

I reported this post to a moderator.

Just thought they might get a laugh out of it too.
  10. So....you created this forum to track the feedback and problems with these changes. We give you 13 pages of gripes.....you fix half of the issues....then abandon it. Classy.
  11. Ok they nerf the item refresh halfway.. There is stil lag in game. They should just roll back the item refresh and find something else that causes lag. Typical Silius starts a thread vanishes and leaves the work half done. Roll it back already because this was not the reason for the lag.... You made it seem like it causes lag just to nerf the item refresh timers...
  12. Bump again!! And again! And again!! till we get a response on what are their plans on the nerf on refresh timers...
  13. If items are still being reviewed.
    - Ulvari Stone of Strength - 1 hour cooldown, which is rather excessive for an ability buff. Rarely use in combat if ever.

Imo would be enough to have normal GCD on most items, No CD on potions and no SHARED timers.

Also, this entire thread is starting to pi$$ me off...
First you make a huge change, and then you want opinions and act like you're all interested what we have to say, and now the subject has been dormant for 2 months.

    Fix this stuff allready !

Silius is too busy copy/pasting Virak loot into the Sihari Lockboxes.
  16. This is insane. No reply after so many requests. Just shows you how "important" feedback is to Silius. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD Silius what are your plans? Clearly item refresh are not to be blamed for the lag ingame. Revert it back since you have not replied to this thread.
  17. Don't mean to ignore this topic either. I heard plenty about it at SOE Live, and the passion in this thread is obvious.
I admit that I haven't dived into this as quickly as we'd all like, because frankly it's an issue with a ton of variables and any changes are likely to be on a case-by-case basis rather than a broad swath approach. So it's a situation that's going to take a lot of attention to fully explore, and my focus has been on a bunch of other aspects of the game. Again, sorry for the lack of any updates--I don't like leaving folks hanging.
I'll do some digging and get back to you on where things are at.
