Looking for some advice

  1. Hey there, I'm playing a Paladin and I was hoping I could get some advice on tanking. I find it difficult dealing with multiple mobs as I have a single taunt and a couple of 'protection' manuevers, but the mobs are always running after my teammates and whatnot - It takes me a little bit to figure who their targeting, click on them and then use the protection move and it doesn't always work.
I've had better luck when grouping with some classes with good CC abilities and that really takes the pressure off, but without them around is there any tricks I can use? Or do I have to wait 'til higher lvl to get some more useful aggro-keeping abilities.
    Thanks
  2. Well Paladin is basicly the alpha-tank in raiding. 1 on 1 no tank can compete with the paladin for aggro. However it comes with the flipside of sucking vs multiple mobs. Both warriors and DK do better there due to AoE attacks and even AoE taunts for warrior.
Im sure some Pally will come in and give you the specifics, I would say put dots on all mobs and taunt around 1 by 1. Shining beacon comes later and helps =)
  3. I had this problem in wow with warrior, practice tab targetting and apply some special skill on each one. As the tank u lead the grp so I usually market the killl order for the first 2 adds and then go from there. Oh and dps thats wont get it, let them die. Happy hunting
  4. Thanks all for the advice and info, appreciate it : ) and cheers Shal for the link, that's really awesome. I'll have a read of it and see how things go.
  5. You also need to understand aggro isn't easily won or kept in this game. You need to work for it but more importantly your group needs to know their role and not pull it off you needlessly. A good example would be a Sorcerer, if they just come in blazing and don't detaunt or give you time to build aggro you will never get the mob off them until they are a corpse.
