So many low lvl crafting quest rewards unusable to FTP players

  1. What is with all the unusable rewards from crafting quests at low level?
    I have been doing the banisher line in NT that started at level 10. 95% of the quest rewards are gold, orange, or red colored and cant be used by ftp players.
    This is just plane stupid.
    You all redid rewards so adverture quests didnt have this problem at lower levels. You need to go back and do this for crafting also it seems.
  2. Tuesday's patch should fix the issue. Low level blue crafting items are being adjusted .. at least that is what everyone is saying. Lets keep our fingers crossed :)
    I agree that just like low level blue adventuring items, diplo and crafting quested or blue items should be available otherwise those spheres will not be enjoyed by many free to play and that would be a tragedy.

    The banishers gear is meant to carry to for a long time, your playing for free. One unlocker potion and you can use it all, thats what the SC market place is for.
    These rewards are orange, pretty high powered stuff.

    The crafting sphere is kinda different in this regard. You're going to end up spending a lot of time grinding out work orders in your mid levels, and those items you get from the Banisher's line will be used right up through your 30s. You'll get the odd upgrade here or there, but it really makes those unlockers worth every penny.
  5. will follow up on checking this after tuesday patch. several of the IOD craft reward items are yellow and gold.

    its not unrealistic if you look at it from the "shmedley skool of MMO economics and wallet farming" viewpoint, it$ all about the $$$ for them. What they need to do is get off the idea that the player grind=$$$, its gets old and boring if the grind drags on too long. I like VG and all but I had enough grinding with EQ/EQ2 and the lack of rewarding and fulfilling experience they have been. If i have to unlock every litte item for an upgrade, its not only a waste of my time doing quests but a waste of my money for each tier to upgrade to.
  8. I have entirely the opposite view from the poster above me.

    I dont pay a monthly subscription to play this game.

    Bu I know to keep the servers running, SOE need to make somehow money off me.

    Now, I'd prefer if they gated content as expansion packs, and made me pay to access it, but they dont - so they need to make me attune gear to get some money off me sometimes.

    None of the rewards are *unusable* - I just need to pay SOE some money for a pack of attunement tokens. If you dont pay-to-log-in, sometimes you need to pay-to-progress. Its how it works.
