Sounds good Graye. It will never appear in a parse either?
  2. Graye Well-Known Member

It will show on large parses.
I only have 3 data points and no idea about how it scales. It is not linear, that's all I can tell.
Not talking cdb though. Crit chance, accuracy, and total damage(?). The damage one is hard to verify, as the % is so "small" and accuracy impact dmg as well.

As for weapon skill (1hs, 2hb, evocation,etc...) it is fairly straight forward. It has no direct visible impact. It also is dependant on the ability level vs. mob level... Except auto attack, which is character lvl vs mob lvl.

That is why spell I.D. and CS seem to be so potent with massive boosts ( it is the most obvious of examples).

99.9999% of the "top-enders" don't even know about these teo major combat aspects, for the same reasons in your initial reply.

I sure hope the developers increase bag space to put gear and augs in, because these new slots will take quite some time to replace current gear.

Not convinced. Looks like a forced community grind where everyone wants the same augs and takes over a year for a melee to obtain damage based mods because everyone wants them, just like the imbued chaos.
  4. Wigin Developer

Bag space won't need to increase as the Augments themselves will stack. There will be also no bottle necking for wanting a specific augment, If you want the Constitution augment you will get a Constitution augment we will go further into how it works in a future developer roundtable centered mostly around crafting.

How about answering some of the 30 other questions and concerns? Thanks for the bag space update.

Because some of the major ones will be answered when the make the thread about defiance augments etc...

Test server will have most of the "more common" augments and gear for mix/matching. It will just take some time for that, as it is a huge overhaul of the system.

Most of the comments that people want to get addressed in the next couple of developer round tables. So far most of them have been about why would I want the new gear over the old gear which is going to be the main focus of a post going up soon about Defiance later this week. The second most seems to be about how do you get them which is going to be related to another post specifically about crafting sometime after that.

    What about diplo?

While the team would love to do some more diplomacy it will not be in the initial wing of Cave of Wonders. Hopefully we will be able to incorporate some diplomacy into Cave of Wonders in future wings but it depends on multiple factors.

    And one more....

If this is the future of VG's loot system. What does that mean for the next bit of content? The "specialty" augs and Defiance augs seem to be the only uniqueness factor, the rest will just be a drawn out process of an X% increase in Stat/%mod augs?

(I really.. really. really. hope that we don't go down the Energeiac aug path of EQ1 either.... I'd rather play WoW or RIFT)

Then, you should have released all the info at the same time, releasing incomplete information is the best way to create rampant speculation that usually leads to player unrest....

In my opinion you should have started with cap removal as it affects itemization more than anything else, followed by gear (base gear and augmentations at the same time on different threads).

the piecemeal release of the gameplan is easy to understand. Given that we were geared up and ready to test content weeks ago, this gives us something to talk about and disagree on each week until we finally do get to see something on test. The forums are the new KDQ grind! at least we are providing input that might have an impact on final product.

Specific questions that I would like to see addressed:

    1. What is the status of a fix for zero speed?
    2. What is the status of Test Server?
    3. How will Augs that we have been raiding and or solo/group farming for over the past 5 years be included into CoW progression? Exile raids Shendu, Sparkles, Arachnidon and Mercauis almost exclusively for augment drops and has for the past year, so hopefully you can see our concern.
    4. When can we expect to see information on stat caps so that we can provide intelligent feedback on itemizations. We are prone to overreaction to be sure, seeing the big picture may help with the unease pretty much the entire end game crowd is feeling.

    1) Fixed internally but we can not do a code update right now because of the performance updates that are massive and branching out a single code change is not very feasible.
    2) Test Server is in the final stages of being converted over to the new system. Conversion from Old to New system is what we are working on and we are nearing the end.
    3) Wait until Defiance post very soon to discuss this.
    4) Stat caps are something we will discuss in the coming weeks after Defiance, and Crafting roundtables.

Sorry to be persistant, but, as a follow up:

1b. Since performance updates are the hold up can you give us an idea how far along we are on that? Answer was too open ended to clarify much.

4b. If Stat caps discussion is some weeks away will it then be too late to provide feedback on itemization? Maybe I am confused, but this really seems like the cart is before the horse as these two items relate to one another.

    Thank you for your time.

1b. Performance updates are pretty hard to nail down. It is one of those its 98% done but the last 2% is proving very time consuming. It is very close but it is not possible to nail it down exactly.

4b. The way the new gear is set up is very easy to balance opposed to other gear and most of the balance feedback won't really help until you guys get to see what defiance does and feels like any feedback on balance without defiance will be fairly useless as it is hugely related to how balance and progression will work in the future content.

What kind of aug scheme will the PotA tier 4 armor use?
  18. Isoel Active Member

hahah I can see the new skill now!!

Somebody mentioned last bosses that were introduced to us and how boring and easy encounters are. I hope we will see bosses like Shendu and Karax with few stages during the fight, lag doesn't count. I hope we will see something similar to APW (instances and gear quests).

Will you put test dummies back up on test so when we play around with the new itemization schemes we can see how they play?
