I know there are a lot of glitches with taking all of the crafting rank-up quests right now, as I just went through my Outfitter doing her Initiate quests (what a nightmare). The quests don't show in the quest log and the game doesn't quite register you taking the quests, even as it does. In this case, my Artificer went to learn Qalian style in Ahgram, of course the quest doesn't register right but that's okay, when I talk to the NPCs it registered -- except then I noticed something critical. I don't have the wooden staff recipe I need to finish the quest. The initial NPC is supposed to give it to you when you start the quest, but it appears I'm not getting it. Also, no, I do not have any of the other Artificer tier quests, as far as I know. (There's no way to tell, mind you, but I have Novice and Amateur Thestran and Kojan completed.) This IS an old character, I just came back to the game. With my Outfitter I could pick up the recipes from an item so I dodged the initial quest-taking problems. I don't know about here. Any help would be appreciated. I'm really at a loss here. No, I'm not currently subscribed, I was planning on taking up a sub next month and subscribe through July, so as far as I know I can't petition for help, either. Thanks.

This the novice quest for my non-native continent -- to get the alternate styles. They're different from all the later tiers. The NPC specifically says they're giving me a recipe, and I receive no recipe. I suspect it's because I didn't have 100 Qalian Artisan rep when I picked up the quest, but since I technically don't have the quest, even though I do (thanks to that general bug with all the crafting tier quests) I can't drop the quest and pick it back up to fix it. That's why I'm at a loss. I was hoping there's a /command to cancel out a quest, something like consoling on some single-player games.
yeah having the same issue. Others are too. NOt sure if it is outfitter or not. I have tiered up other toons the past few days no problems. Even able to tier this one up on native style but no foreign ones. It offers you the quest, you accept it. But it gves the warning unable to accept that quest. Then if you accept again it says youre on it. No recipe is given, I even ran to one of the 3 NPCs you need to talk to and they wont give the interactions. Work around might be to make another outfitter and make all the gloves you need then mail them. But not sure if that would work either since you dont even have the quest in the log.
Kojan trainer (outfitter)isnt even offering the novice tier now. He gave me the housing quests for windows and coverings and did those fine but the novice tier quest wasnt there.
I was able to petition and it got straightened out. /Petition them and say you can't do the novice quests, and they will give you the novice flags or the recipes to finish them. (In my case, as I already had two continental novice flags, they just gave me the third one.) It IS a little slow, but stuff gets done. Thank heavens. Also, for the higher tiers, there is a workaround if you don't want to wait on a /petition. On those quests, the recipes come from an item, not the quest pickup itself. "Take" the quest -- the icon on the NPC's head will change, even if you don't see the quest in your log, you sort of have it -- then go pick up the recipes from the item for that quest. Make them items, return then to the NPC, poof quest completes as usual and you're good to go. (I looked on thetelonproject.com to find where the recipes were). Many thanks to Rushlimbaugh for him pointing this out the first time. I was so irritated when I went to get my initiate Kojan outfitter quest on my main.
