Str/con/wis or str/con/dex or dex/con/str for paladin?

SOE seems to suggest str/con/wis for paladin in that order, but I am not convinced about that.

Which combination is best for paladin when you no longer are leveling up and do group and raid tanking:

Str/con/wis (This is what SOE suggest in character creation)
Str/con/dex (Forget wis and go for dex for some extra crits and avoidance)
Dex/con/str (Forget str and go for maximum crits and avoidance. This is what was suggested for me when I asked about it in VG chat)

Well, I only alt a Pally, so I will leave the Str/Con/Wis vs. Str/Con/Dex choice to someone who knows more than I. (My Pally alt is St/Con/Dex).

However, I can say without a doubt that Dex/Con/Str is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard! I really wish some people would get the whole idea of dodge/avoidance out of their heads when it comes to Vanguard tanking. It is garbage.

Thank you for this comment, but for some reason I seem to be able to find only threads about warrior and DK specs. Thus I would like to ask you to link that answer here if possible, please.

The way I did it was Str/Dex/Vit while levelling. Strength and Dex are good for DPS but also for holding aggro. The vit is good for energy regen, run speed, and heals when you need them. Alternatively you could go Con as well, but I found it somewhat unnecessary at lower levels (And I levelled my Pally back in 2007, so it might be different now).

When you get to the 50's, you'll want to go Str/Con/Dex ithink, or at leas Str/Dex/Con. The con will be much more important that before, Dex less so (If you're raiding you're going to be critting constantly anyway). And str is there to help you hold aggro with DPS.

There are some other factions involved, but that's the basics I followed.

Thank you! This is the kind of kind information I was looking for.
