Hi Ziggy, you hit the nail on the head. Although VG is more CPU intensive, the vid card still needs to be half decent at best. You computer sounds very similar to my wife's desktop. Shes running an AMD Athlon X2 Regor 240 at 1.8Ghz, 4 gigs of ram, win 7 pro. But she has a GeForce GTS 250. She gets around 30-35 FPS on balanced settings in most places. It sounds to me like you are using the onboard graphics card. Never a good idea for gaming. Not only is it the bottom end of the GeForce series, but it is also sharing the RAM that the rest of the computer uses, bottelnecking it even further. I would definately look on newegg or ebay for a decent, mid-grade GPU. Think Geforce 450 and up. The 2nd biggest bang for your buck would be to get a SSD and load your OS and VG on that. You didnt say what kind of hard drive you had so I thought I would toss that in there as well. Hope this helps.

Mortuarius, thank you for responding! idk exactly what kind of hard drive i have but i no its upgraded 465GB, now i just need to find a graphic card that will fit my mother board... and i can FINALLY start playing. also idk what a SSD is can u explain? also does it matter on DDR2 or gddr2 ect.. cuz i dont wanna order a video card n have it not fit my motherboard

is there a way you can tell me what motherboard you have? Most video cards are PCI-Express x16, so as long as your motherboard has a PCI-E Slot (which most do) than any card will work. GDDR2/GDDR3, I think most mid grade cards have GDDR3 some may have GDDR5 but thats usually found more on the high end cards. I believe the GTS250 in the desktop I have has 1gb of GDDR3. Again it runs pretty well. As for your hard drive, considering that SSD's are really expensive when you get in the 200+ gb range, I am going to assume you have a standard SATA Hard drive. SSD stands for Solid State Drive. It has no platters or mechanical parts. Think of a thumb drive only on a larger scale. These drives are much faster at reading and writing than regular mechanical SATA drives and therefore offer better performance in load times. With these drives you will notice that cities in VG can load in much faster, therefore eliminating most client side lag. Same with chunking. To give you an example of how expensive SSDs are to regular drives, Newegg has a Crucial 240GB SSD for $189. You can get a 2TB mechanical drive for about the same price.

Its got a PCI-E X16 slot so like I said, it can run most video cards. As for the GeForce GT610, while it will be an upgrade to the onboard card, don't expect a huge performance jump. You would probably still need to run the game on low settings. Personally I would go for like a GTX650 or higher to be able to run the game on decent settings. But if all you can get right now is a 610 to get the game going on low, then I guess thats better than nothing. Let us know how it works out.
