  1. So after posting mine, and reviewing everyone elses set ups I purchased a Kingston HyperX 120GB 3K SSD... May be the best decision regarding my PC i have ever made!!

The next purchase for my rig will be 60GB SSD x 2 in Raid0 configuration.

    Currently -
    i5-2500 Sandy Bridge @ 3.3GHz
    TZ77B Biostar mobo
    8GB (2x4GB) Ripsaw 1600 MHz RAM
    GTX-260 EVGA Video Card
160GB 7200 RPM SATAIII HDD <- Slowing the system down

After the SSD, I want to upgrade the video card. Afterwards, I want to replace the CPU with the i5 w/o the integrated graphics and get a non-stock cooler to OC it. I'll take pictures of it if I ever get around to it. It's not that exciting, no bells, whistles, or superflicious LEDs. My desk kicks derierre though.... I just need a better chair.
  3. You guys are making me cry.
Since launch, I've played on a destop with an AMD 3400+, 1gb RAM, and a Radeon x800 pro with Vanguard on a 10,000rpm hard disk. It has always frozen up in the middle of play due to rendering hold ups which sometimes caused groups to think I was a crappy healer. For the past two years this thing--I'm typing on it now--has been overheating after playing for 20+ minutes. Lol. Sometimes it will just bluescreen from being so hot.
I recently spent a few bucks for a new hard drive on my also old Sager gaming laptop which has an Intel 2.2 Ghz processor, 2gb RAM, and a nVIDIA GeForce Go 7800 GTX with Vanguard on a 5,400rpm hard disk.
The laptop plays the game so much more smoothly; it feels like an entirely new game. I think this slight upgrade has convinced me to go ahead and spend the cash on an updated desktop. I'm hoping to get the i7 3820 processor with the nVIDIA 660/680. I may wait until the start of the new year in hopes that prices have dropped a bit.

  7. What are the temps of your CPU cooler? (just wondering.. seems similar, just different brand)
Mine sit "idle" from 26-30 (depending on time of year etc..) and peak around 39 at full load. Once I see mine in the 40's, I know it is time to blow out the radiator real good. ;)

If you're not running that cold, you can also consider setting it up with a push-pull system. Seems yours is pulling through the radiator, but it does look like it has the capability to mount another fan to push through it. Helps a bit if you're really going all out with your CPU. ;)

Yeah mine runs at about 30 - 35 and that is with 3 VG clients running. I actually bought a second 120mm fan to attach and push, but i need different screws lol ... but i have been hessitant to push too hard since i have never oc'ed before.
  9. Sometimes I do actual work here, I promise. >=)
