I wanted to share this story as a new player here. I hit level 10 on my new Dreadlord and was apparently missing some major items. First off, I had died in the (Ascension) dungeon twice while attempting to solo it, trying to find the last two spirits which were later shown to actually be outside the dungeon and behind it (thanks map). When I came upon my third attempt, I found a robed druid named Eradtic and her NPC healer. I invited them to join and was then walked through fixing my current quest so it was completed accurately, then brought back to the dungeon so it could be cleared by us properly. All in all I had an absolute blast, and it reminded me why I used to love MMO's.

As much as I love them, MMO's are hard for me. They take a lot of time which is something I don't have a lot of. They can also be hard to keep up with, but when you come into a game years after its release, and don't care to rush to end game you have a different appreciation for it all. Being able to log in and play casually, and have a complete stranger willingly take the time to walk me through a dungeon so I could experience what this game is really about is absolutely amazing. I can't say enough good things about Eradtic. All I can say is I immediately paid for a three month subscription.

    Thank you, very much.

Very cool Menahem! I have found many a good soul here in VG.

I recommend you look into a guild too. It will give you some people to play with, and help you when you have questions.

Also the /craft channel is good too. It's for crafting, but a lot of people in it are the people who have been around a LONG time and they love to help.

That is brilliant, Menahem and thank you for sharing your experience!

Just to echo a bit from what Morty has left for you, /craft, /dip and /diplomacy are all global channels - but a while back, we veterans wanted to offer a channel where folks might feel a bit more comfortable asking anything, so we formed /help - also a global channel. You can find many of us in any (some all) of those outlet and we are there to help when and how we can.

I am very happy to read that you have subscribed and will look forward to seeing you in Telon!

one reason I keep a permanent character on the isle of dawn is to meet and help people just like this. The thrill of completion and success is a shared experience and part of the reason we play an MMO otherwise we have plenty of gaming options that require no one else. Vanguard is a place were you can enjoy this experience for years. Welcome to the game and keep having fun.
