Forcing me to download another SOE product so as to be able to enjoy the benefits of paying to play the singular SOE title that I enjoy is further reason and support for my decision to never purchase nor play another SOE title again.

Edited because I simply cannot stress enough that VG is the only title that SOE has in their catalog that holds any interest to me at all; so, pray tell, why would I download a product that I have no desire to play so that I can play the one that I am paying to play?

This may not set well what so ever, but the pure and simple truth is the SOE has some of, if not the poorest customer service policies I have seen.

I totally agree Aasha. They just keep dumping on us, probably in hopes that we will just go away so they can shut VC down early.

    Agree 100%

The oldest two MMOs (or at least, graphical MORPGs) - are still online. I have characters in the Realm that are over 18 Years old.
Why are the Realm and Meridian 59 still online? Because the companies behind them were willing to make an effort to Keep them alive.

What efforts did SOE make to keep Vanguard viable?
    Anyone?

I have about 6 months of All-access left, after which I will no longer be paying into anything from SOE.

These games are centered around Developing a character, a persona, or a game-life. To spend the days, weeks, months, even years to do so, then watch them flush the whole thing on a whim - is not just harsh, it is a glaring Insult.

And before someone claims the games will have to end eventually - True.. but it shouldn't be because some idiot in management just isn't interested in a game, it should come after all attempts to keep the Customers happy have been exhausted.

I was eager to see EQN, but at this point, I'm just watching to see what gets cancelled next.
IMO, it will be Planetside or EQ2, then the other of the two.

Then they will probably announce that Landmark was really only supposed to be a testing platform for EQN, and set a termination date for it..

They won't kill EQ for a while, simply because of the symbolism of it. But everything else will be fair game soon.

Does " we will give Vanguard members an all access past until July 31" mean that as a current Vangard member I will get an All Acess Pass until July 31, regardless if I pay for any additional memberships beyond the current month's expiration?

Update: You will be automatically upgraded to All Access if you were previously a Gold member. Membership prices going forward will still be charged, but for All Access as opposed to Gold. Dear Players,

In an effort to ensure that the transition to the new All Access membership plan is as seamless as possible, we are going to be taking a little more time to test. So, we will be pushing the launch date of All Access to Tuesday, April 29th. Because of the portfolio-wide nature of this plan, this may prevent us from doing any individual game updates in EverQuest, EverQuest II, Planetside 2, and DC Universe Online. These updates will resume normally after the All Access launch. We appreciate your patience and you’ll agree that our new membership offering is worth the wait.

    Hi all,

The original post in this thread has been updated with the following FAQ update:

    ***
Q: What if I play Vanguard?
A: Vanguard is a special case, and our VG players are very important to us. The game will regretfully be sunsetted on July 31st, 2014 – for more information on the sunset of this game, please refer to our announcement, found here.
We want to do our best to ease the difficult transition for all of our Vanguard players.

To that end, we will upgrade all existing Vanguard members to SOE All Access status, from April 29th until the game sunsets, on July 31st, 2014 We sincerely hope that this membership access across all of our games will help you to find a new home and a new online world to explore within our SOE Game family.

Unfortunately, as the Vanguard Marketplace is no longer under development, VG players will need to log into another eligible SOE game to claim their monthly SC grant. For the same reason, the 10% discount on Marketplace items will not apply to items in the Vanguard Marketplace, although members can apply it in all other eligible games that they may choose to play. We do hope that you will try other games in our SOE portfolio, including the upcoming Landmark and H1Z1, while enjoying full membership status across all eligible games until Vanguard sunsets.

In either case, the Station Cash will remain in your SOE wallet after the sunset of Vanguard, and can be spent in any eligible SOE game. We do hope you’ll stay with us!

If you have any game time remaining on your Vanguard account at sunset, it will be applied on a prorated basis to your new SOE All Access account.
If you do not wish to continue as an All Access member upon the sunset of Vanguard, please remember to cancel your account on July 31, 2014, or it will auto-renew.

In addition to updating our FAQ, we will be sending out customer service notifications closer to the sunset date as a reminder of these changes.

Let us know if you have any questions!

Sorry, but did this mean only subscription/gold members or all members? The way it currently sounds, all members are being upgraded. If this is not the case, then a change of wording might be appropriate (otherwise, it sounds like f2p members aren't members).
    Can you please clarify?

    Thanks for your help!

Thanks for your question, Xull. I've double checked with our team and it looks like this is only for previous Gold members.
