Somebody in-game was telling me my Cleric attacks heal party members. I haven't figured out how. Is there any truth to this?
Yep. You have four weapon consecrations, you can pick any one to be active at a time. One of them is 'Power of Renewal' which heals party members every time you attack the mob. The others are extra damage and hate reduction if I remember correctly.
Be aware though that it's not really a main healing tool, it doesn't heal for all that much. However, it's nice for lighter content, and hey, every little bit helps.
For an ability that doesn't use any energy at all, it's a REALLY good tool. I use it most of the time on my cleric, even more so when soloing strong mobs. Makes me have to heal much less often.
The four vary by affinity, but yeah...no energy cost and no extra cooldown to do renewal is a fair exchange for it being rather light, in most circumstances I've rarely used anything besides that plus a HoT therefor do almost no active healing. Of course, some things demand straight spam healing, at which point you can hardly tell renewal does anything, but that's when you need it most.
Power of Renewal is the only one I ever use on my cleric. It really, really helps with group healing, even on raids. It doesn't seem like much, but it really does add up. It won't really save anyone's life, but it does help to keep them topped off.
