Hi I am a recent returnee after a couple years away and everything seems to be ok apart from a couple targetting issues I hope people can help with: - I have 'Esc' set to clear target by default and this works, for a while. AT random intervals it will suddenly stop working and I have no way to clear target. Exiting and restarting VG sometimes works. - Am trying to use my old targeting macros '/targetnextcorpse' and '/targetnearestcorpse' and both say invalid command. Am a necro and use them as part of my necropsy macro and a pain them not working anymore. - Also have the 'black box at side of chat window' when I put the cursor there. Am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on a laptop. Thoughts?

As for the black box issue, there was a post located here http://forums.station.sony.com/vg/p...;topic_id=54285 which discusses this, the 7th post down on the second page has a link to download corrected files (suggest reading through the thread first so you can understand what is causing the issue) which will correct this. The files will be overwrote each time you start the launcher so you can do what I did and create a batch file which I run after the launcher updates all of the files and before I before I hit play. Hopefully that helps!

It is possible this failure mode is a combination of Windows 7, windowed mode and alt-tabbing, but I'm far from sure. Anyhow, somethimes alt-tabbing back and forth between Windows and VG fixes it. Thanks for the replies. Tried different things now like alt-tabbing out several times to no avail. Also noticed when the 'Esc' function fails so do the numpad skills which is unfortunate as thats where I put my main attacks!!! Also the targetting macro is a completely new one as I have never played a necro before, others in my guild have no problems with the ./targetnextcorpse' I am really stumped, apart from dual-booting my machine with XP really don't know what to do. I have tried changing the compatasbility mode on the shortcut too, no change.
You may want to make backups and then delete the following files: default.ini vgclient.ini vgclient.dll vgclient.exe These files are located within the bin folder in the Vanguard directory. One or more of those files may be corrupt, causing these issues. Next, delete the configuration files/folder by following these instructions: 1. Open the Vanguard Launchpad (do not login at this time) 2. Click Advance Tools, Open Game Directory, then close the Launchpad 3. Delete the VGUIAssets folder from the main Vanguard directory 4. Delete the files explained above located inside the bin folder 5. Close all open folders and restart Vanguard using the Launchpad to login and play If deleting these files does not resolve your issue, you can restore your backed up files and folders and retain your hotkeys, contact lists, and display settings. Please feel free to open a support ticket with us for further support if this issue persists.
Thanks for the further advice, tried it with no luck. Other problems though are getting worse in that suddenly the whole screen will go black for no reason, eventually it comes back and as I run mouse over screen the UI re-appears. I have updated to the latest Catalyst drivers but am running a laptop (dual core 2.5gig, 4gig ram, mobility radeon HD display) with Windows 7 64-bit so spec wise is well above the original, minimum specs. Any other ideas?
Well sadly in the end I had no option but to delete the character. The issues I was having were not evident on another, new character and even worse every time I logged out at Qa when I logged back in I was half a chunk away to the East and subsequently died instantly as the mobs are several levels above me. I know VG has bugs and always has done, but to be so bad that I had to delete the characte .... well I just hope the new necro I make (which I will now take through IoD instead of risking Qualia again) is more succesful.

This is a problem with the Alt/Ctrl/Shift keys being reported as still on. This may be happening because the VG window never recieves the alt key release command. I have taken to using the Task Bar to tab between windows as this prevents it from happening.
