Class Feedback - Casters

  1. Please consider setting Bane of Heaven (the raid-target-only DoT put in to fix our raid dps a bit) to be the same duration as all other necromancer dots are set to: It is currently 44 seconds where all the rest are 60, making the rotation quite wonky (very easy to waste time doing it early or lose ticks, and it's the second highest DPS dot so important not to lose them). Fairly sure all the other DoTs were set to the same duration to simplify rotations, but this was done before Bane of Heaven went ingame?
It would be fine to just put up when it runs out except for the fact the UI currently fails to report when buffs have fallen off - they will often be listed for the entire duration of an encounter, so these things have to be timed manually.

limit fire pummel targets (combined with some serious rethinking pota and epic collect issues)
give debuff spells that dont actually damage and pull aggro

    thanks for asking

    long overdue, yes please!!!
  4. Something has to be done about Fire Pummel before AAs or such can come about. Otherwise people are going to instantly max AAs by just sitting afk while a sorc kites KDQ. 2 different ideas: * Add a 2 minute recast to it. That would put it in line with Druid's big AE also. With this delay it's still possible to solo kite KDQ, but no longer really worth it. * Have the spell root the caster for 5-6 seconds. Would make it impossible to solo kite with spell, but still keep all the damage for group where another person can hold agro.
  5. It would be ok to restrict Fire Pummel's number of targets if two things are done:
    1. For everything that nerfing Pummel wrecks, add an alterative. This means fixing the epic grinds and doing something about aug drops. The obvious solution is to give existing content and CoB the ability to generate epic slivers from quests. Thus, no aoe and no SoD grinding involved. Also, put augs in CoB that way the augs gained from SoD don't just dry up. Make them available from hard quests and hard mobs. That would be way better than what is the case right now. Do more of what was done with the Magi Hold raid bosses.
    2. Take a look at the minor sorc issues. Fix a few of the useless sorc abilities or add a new one for a bit of flavor. Fixing what is broken is more important than nerfing in most cases anway. The sanctuaries were fixed but the wards are still useless as is Shocking Grasp.
  6. EDIT: Wrong forum.
  7. I played Vanguard in Beta and when it was released for about a month. My main class in that time was a Druid, and I haven't played it since, so my info might be out of date!
I loved the class because it was great if you like gameplay that lets you use your reflexes to save the day. But as a jack of all trades, I really wanted a mez. In beta, the Druid mez spell actually worked on anything, even though it was intended to only work on animals. It made the class so much more fun because I felt like the daddy of the group, overseeing everything and taking care of whatever needed to be done. I would spend most of my time trying to do as much damage as possible, but if anyone got seriously injured, I was there with my emergency heals! If a mob tried to run, I was there with my snare and I rooted nuisance mobs too. But being able to mez a mob was a big deal. I wasn't as good at it as the Psi, but when there was no Psi in the group, it was really useful and it just made the class so involving.
So after release when the spell was fixed to only work on animals, it was a huge disappointment for me :( Since then I only tend to 2 box now because I am so keen on having a lot to do. I reckon with my 2 boxing, if I had a good nights sleep and I'm on the ball, I can work the characters to probably about 90% effectiveness compared to if they were being played by separate people. So it works out well and it's a lot of fun for me! But still, I have to pay twice for the privilege, so it would be nice to that one super-jack-of-all-trades that is effective at everything, even if he isn't the best at anything.

I am hoping maybe we can get some of this stuff looked into now with Developer attention. Phorty has some great ideas here. I really like the caster bag suggestion. Along with the conjuring all the foci's at once and having them go into the bag. Same could be done with other classes like the Druid one suggested.
I would really like evac to be looked at. Crashing while evaccing across chunk lines isn't cool.
Fire Pummel needs a serious nerf of some sort. It is way too OP in its current state. Limit the maximum number of targets to 5 or 6 would be a good place to start.
I tend to agree with the epics. The 100k clicky is nice, but not so great in the grand scheme of a DPS fight. As for the offhand proc, I am not sold on Stikethrough yet although I am not sure what else would be good in place of.
