Rifting to death

  1. Four times today, on two different characters, I rifted and when the slightly longer than normal loading screen finished and the game returned I was not near the riftstone on the new chunk. Instead I was 300 or more meters away and dead... standing up... and could walk around. When I clicked the release button and went to the nearest rez altar, I lost experience but I maintained any buffs I had on my character.

    When complaining to Thestran chat upon the first death, they said I was not the first person to have this happen today. I was able to reproduce the porting away from the riftstone and death twice on each character it happened to, and did a /bug on the fourth death.
    First and second times were from New Targonor rift to Misthaven Crossing, to visit the new Grim Harvest questgiver, and my first character ended up dead far north on the road about 500 ish meters from the riftstone. Contacted GM Doe who came out to reset the chunk but it crashed before the reset completed and I was able to rift back and forth a few times on the first character with no incident.
    Many hours later and on a second character, the third and fourth deaths were from Tomb of Lord Tsang's rift to Tanvu, where I landed pretty close to the rez altar each time, again dead, standing up and able to walk a bit. No experience loss this time as it was a level 2 character. Logged out to a different character and continued playing as normal again. The chunk didn't crash as I walked back to town and I was not able to reach any GMs prior to changing characters in Tanvu. When rifting to Tanvu on the next (third) character, things seemed normal.

    Is this happening to myself and others due to a chunk instability or could it have something to do with lag possibly? I have no reason why I would be ported to any area to die away from the riftstone even if I lagged terribly. I was not pressing any movement keys nor clicking any other button after selecting my rift. Each character died twice because I was testing to see if the first time was a fluke. Went back to the same starting rift, took a few steps around and attempted to go back to each death zone. I can only hope that it's something that is fixable. Rifting to death and not even being at the riftstone is gamebreaking to my mind.
  2. Rifting into IoG yesterday evening - 3 different toons flew in and were stuck in the air unable to move - as they chunked in.
    Finally dismissed mount, parachuted to ground - still unable to move.
    Fixed after I relogged.
  3. this happened to several people in our raid last night at IoG as well, they were seemingly alive and moving around but a Tombstone was on Physik's bridge and they had the release timer pop up on the screen, then they died .
  4. Happening again tonight. Myself and two other guildmates were rifting to Kamelott Landing and ended up approximately 20 meters from the rift, dead but standing up and able to walk around while dead. When clicking release you lose experience and leave a tombstone (as with any normal death.) One guildmate contacted Autobahn and had a short conversation with him and reported back to us that he got a GM response of "Ok I fixed that now." and then Autobahn was logged off before we could ask what he thinks he fixed. It was right at the end of his shift, sure, but... what? ^_^

    Should we flood this with petitions and bug reports to get any attention to the matter? I'd hoped a thread in the appropriate subforum and a previous /bug might have caught someone's eye. :\
