[Psionicist] Class/Ability Issues - for review week of 10/26

    It's not a stacking issue - Arcane Balance is a one-time ability - there is no duration - it's just free mana. Other short-duration buffs wouldn't stack either, but without a cooldown, you would be able to use all of them in very short order. There is a reason they all have long cooldowns ;)

    I think 10 mins is fair though...even if you use one and then change your only gaining the benefit of 2 racials then locked out for 10 mins and with the rest of our nerfs it will only help to bring us back up a bit allowing us to do this, don't you think?
  4. I could have sworn I posted these a while ago, but don't see it. It would be nice if Acumen was an hour buff llike the rest. The level 50 version lasts an hour.
  5. My main is not a Psion so you can kill or BBQ me if I say something stuipid :p However, from my experience it seems that the mindspy abilities do CRIT but do not open chains. Is this intended? It seems a bit odd to me would be the abilities that I know of that act this way.
    Please correct me if I am wrong

  6. Nope . . . i think you got it right. They crit, as in do extra damage, but do not open our crit chain. That clarification is important. Thanks for it.

  7. How about we be able to wear and use the fishy earring from Senator Dim? We can mindspy from the fish now, so it seems logical that we be able to summon the fish, just as Necros and Bloodmages can.
  8. Don't know if its still and issue. I think its Time Trick 2 didn't work on the level of mobs it was supposed to, unless they fixed it. My psi is 40 now so I can't really check it.

  12. After reading through the post one last time the only thing I could add to a wish list is for Psionic Blast to have the cast time reduced or removed, the debuff duration increased, or the damage brought up to something worth the cast time.

  14. Very nice thread! I only play casually, so my thoughts are more for lower levels. Requests and suggestions from higer-level characters should definitely count for more.
    - Illusions - it's mentioned here already, but they seem to have no use. I would find them at least a little useful if they added to diplomacy or crafting. But since they are adventuring skills, maybe they could all be dropped for one illusion "Mirror Mob". It could give you 10 seconds of no agro from the targeted mob followed by a big jump in agro against you. Self-target only. This seems like it helps the Mass Amnesia cool-down.
    - Levitation - at some level, it would be nice to get a version that is castable on others (maybe this happens sometime after my current level 38)

  15. Hi All, I would like to see these changes - i will keep this short and to the point
    Enhanced Charming - our charms are not that great and they are way to short - we are masters of mind manipulation after all
    Dot damage - my goodness please if anything beef up dementia, non the less the other 3 dots.
    Crit chains - scale these up a bit, add some more damage
    Mindspy - i agree with what already has been posted, but needs fixing

    I think our charms are fine, the problem now is our survivability when they break due to our Trans nerf, it was poorly implemented and very rushed, so I hope we will be compensated with this revamp in some way.
  18. I'm lobbying strong for the fish earring. Would at least partially help the mindspy issue since it gives one of the more useful pairs.
  19. How about significantly decreasing the casting time of the psionic blast series of spells? It has always seemed wrong that a class-defining damage type (mental!) is not a significant part of our direct damage at high levels because of the slow casting time. The only utility for psionic blast appears to be as emergency mana regen during TT or slow damage on mobs that are healed by physical. A decrease in the casting time of these spells might add a reasonable boost to our dps (maybe not enough on its own though).

    Even though this is my first post here, I've been playing a psi consistently since release. That disclaimer out of the way, I would be interested in hearing counterarguments to this by gamers who spend more time worrying about dps than I do.

    On my earlier points, I'm fine with getting the racial ability of whatever illusion you cast. That seems like a great use for those spells. I was just throwing out another alternative.
    The reason I mentioned lev as a self-only spell is that I typically play in a group of only one or two other people. The Psi is really cool for such a group because of crowd control, good dps contribution, and some nice utility abilities. The most fun I've had playing this game (since beta 2) has been in working on a three-person team doing six-person content. So in my case, neither of the other two people had lev to cast and it would have been more fun in a few cases if I could have shared it.
